Large Capsule Microphone

Microphone with large diaphragm forming the top tier among the microphones. A large membrane microphone is so called when the vibrating free region of the membrane is at least 1" or 25 mm , nowadays considered also to be large diaphragm at 3/4" diameter. This large diaphragm allows for a lower cut-off frequency linearity down to the deep bass. Large diaphragm mics sound usually softer and more detailed than conventional microphones.
