Epiphone 1984 Explorer EB · Electric Guitar
In their 1958 price list, the Flying-V and Explorer models were still referred to as "modernistic guitars“ which was how Gibson tried to prove that they were also able to step away from their traditional guitar design and build instruments that are truly revolutionary. Today they are undeniable classics and Epiphone offer them as replicas built true to the original.
Back when it was first launched in 1958, the Explorer started off rather disappointingly. Just as with the Flying-V, this was of course not due to its sound or playability but rather down to its extraordinary design. However, these original models from 1958 are highly precious, sought after collectables worth tens of thousands of dollars these days. Epiphone offer replicas of the 1958 Korina Explorer in both ebony and korina natural.

The history of Epiphone has also been shaped greatly by the brilliant guitarist Les Paul experimenting in the Epiphone factory to design the first solid body electric guitar in 1941. Today Epiphone stand for both innovative guitar design and for excellent yet affordable replicas of true guitar classics.
