The sound is in your head. You´ve played countless instruments in search of the ultimate soul mate and now you need an amp that will share your sound with the audience. That´s where the Pro Series heads come alive!
Pro Series heads feature single or multi-tube preamps, five position mid frequency selection, and Neutrik Speak-On locking connectors that provide better conductivity. A Mute button lets you change instruments in the middle of a set without any annoying ´pop,´ noises and a Tuner Out jack that stays active even when the Amp is muted.
Pro Series heads are built for the long haul. The units remain cool with variable speed fans. DC supplied filaments ensure noise-free tube performance and the 1/8" thick extruded aluminum front panels not only allow safe racking. The contoured fronts have an awesome look also.
Whether you choose the 300 watt all-tube SVT-2PRO, Ampegs best selling 450 watt tube driven Mos-Fet SVT-3PRO, the industry´s highest powered bass amp - the 1600 watt SVT-4PRO or the ultimate in flexibility of tone - the all new SVT-5PRO, your creative mind now has the palette to deliver the goods.

The Ampeg founders, Everett Hull und Stanley Michael that started a business called Michaels-Hull Electronic Labs in 1946. They produced and distributed a bass pick up that had been developed by Hull. It was called Amplified Peg, short Ampeg. The Patent laid the foundation for a successful company that has always been good for a new innovation and is seen as a worldwide stage standard. In 1949 Michael left the company and Hull chose the name for the company as it is today Ampeg. He gained six US patents for amplifiers. The most notable Ampeg equipment is the SVT series (Super Valve Technology); it’s been in production since 1969 and has up to 300 watts of power.
Ampeg do of course have more to offer than the classical SVT/8x10” configuration. interestingly the transistor amps achieve the same impressive mid range sound characteristics.
