The Adam A5X nearfield monitor speaker features a X-ART Accelerating Ribbon Technology tweeter driven by a 50-watt Class-AB amplifier and a 5.5-inch midwoofer with a Carbon fiber/Rohacell/Glass fiber diaphragm driven by a 50-Watt high efficiency Class-D Pulse Width Modulation amplifier. The X-ART tweeters membrane consists of a pleated diaphragm in which the folds compress or expand with the audio signal so that air is drawn in and squeezed out, similar to the bellows of an accordion for unprecedented clarity and pristine transient reproduction. Dual ports for surprisingly low frequency response down to 50Hz. Other features include front panel power and gain controls, rear panel tweeter gain control, balanced XLR jacks and unbalanced RCA jacks, and two M6 6 mm metric strew threads for stand / wall mounting. Stereolink features a pair of additional RCA connections that allow control of the overall stereo volume of the system from either speakers gain control. A great way to control system volume in "mixer-less" DAW applications.
